ANZSPM Aotearoa is hosting a palliative paramedicine study day in Auckland in July that is open to students, paramedics, palliative care workers and other health professionals interested in learning more about palliative paramedicine.
The study day will be held on 11 July at the Hato Hone St John first aid training centre in Parnell.
The day will have a focus on how paramedics can provide compassionate, patient-centred support in the most challenging moments.
The day will include expert-led sessions from paramedics and palliative care specialists about managing complex symptoms, advanced care planning, and providing holistic, empathetic support.
There will also be interactive case studies and a chance to network with others working in the field.
Key topics that will be covered include: unexpected dying, palliative care emergencies, advanced care planning and patient wishes, models of paramedicine palliative care, and having better CPR conversations.
Find more information and register for the event here.
The day is free for paramedicine students, $25 for registered paramedics and allied health, and $50 for doctors with CME.
